Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how ShadowWallet works and how we protect your privacy.

ShadowWallet is a privacy-first, non-custodial, client-side Solana wallet. It allows you to send, receive, and manage SOL and SPL tokens directly from your browser — without accounts, without tracking, and without relying on any third party to hold your funds or keys.

Click "Create Wallet" on the home page. A unique biometric key will be generated for you. Save this key in a secure, offline location — it is the only way to access your wallet.

Your biometric key is a unique cryptographic string that serves as your wallet's access credential. It is generated locally in your browser and is never transmitted or stored by ShadowWallet. Think of it as your master password — anyone who has it can access your wallet.

No. ShadowWallet is fully non-custodial — we do not store your biometric key, recovery information, or any data about your wallet. If you lose your key, your wallet and any funds in it cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. This is the trade-off of true self-custody: complete control means complete responsibility. Always store your key securely and offline.

Yes. ShadowWallet is completely free. The only costs you'll encounter are standard Solana network transaction fees, which are typically a fraction of a cent per transaction.

ShadowWallet supports SOL (the native Solana token) and SPL tokens (the Solana token standard), including popular tokens like USDC.

No. ShadowWallet does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data — by design, not by policy. There is no registration, no email requirement, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. We built the architecture so that data collection is not just disabled, but impossible. All operations happen locally in your browser.
